the agreement

terms

last updated: 2026-05-12. plain language. no fine print buried at the bottom.

tl;dr

  • chill map is for adults (18+). be kind in chat.
  • you own what you post; we just need permission to show it to other users.
  • comply with the laws where you are. chill map doesn't sell, supply, or facilitate the purchase of anything.
  • spam, harassment, hate, illegal content, scraping → not allowed. we can remove content and suspend accounts.
  • the service is provided "as is". we'll do our best but we're not on the hook for outages, data loss, or vibes that fall flat.

who can use chill map

  • you must be 18 or older.
  • you must comply with the laws of the jurisdiction you're connecting from — chill map is available globally and we can't advise on local rules.
  • by creating an account or posting messages, you agree to these terms and our privacy policy.

your account

  • one account per person. don't share your password.
  • you're responsible for everything posted from your account — keep an eye on it.
  • if you think your account is compromised, email privacy@chillmap.appand we'll help.

how to use it well

chill map exists to feel calmer together. these things break that vibe and aren't allowed:

  • harassment, threats, hate speech, doxxing.
  • spam, advertising, mass messaging.
  • impersonating other people.
  • posting illegal content or content that exploits minors.
  • attempts to bypass rate limits, RLS, or any access control — including automated scraping or extraction.
  • offering to buy, sell, supply, or arrange transport of any regulated substance. chill map is a vibe map, not a marketplace, and we don't facilitate transactions.

your content

  • you own it. your messages, profile bio, avatar — all yours.
  • by posting on chill map you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, transmit, and display that content to other users for the purpose of running the service. this license ends when you (or we) remove the content.
  • you're responsible for the content you submit. if it's not yours to share, don't share it here.
  • we may remove content that breaks these terms, breaks the law, or makes the service worse for everyone.

moderation & suspension

  • we may (but aren't obligated to) review content and accounts.
  • we can remove content, mute, suspend, or terminate accounts that break these terms or the law.
  • for clear and immediate harms (threats, CSAM, etc.) we may cooperate with law enforcement as required.

leaving

  • you can delete your account anytime — email privacy@chillmap.app. we'll respond within 14 days.
  • after deletion: chat messages auto-delete on the same 7-day schedule everyone else's does (see privacy policy).

service availability

  • we provide the service "as is" with no warranty of uptime, fitness for a particular purpose, or freedom from bugs.
  • features may change, get added, or go away. we'll try to give notice for big changes.

liability

to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, chill map and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the service — including but not limited to lost messages, downtime, missed connections, or vibes that didn't land. some jurisdictions don't allow limitations like this; in those places, this section applies only to the extent it legally can.

changes to these terms

we may update these terms. when we do we'll bump the "last updated" date at the top, and for changes that materially affect your rights we'll surface a notice in-app. continuing to use chill map after an update means you accept the revised terms.
